Buddy Norvell, founder of Norvell Signs, began hand lettering
in the army, while stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon
returning to Richmond in 1953, he worked for a local sign
company to better his talent. In 1959, he began working for
himself out of his father's garage.
Five
years later he moved the business to its' present location
at 5928 Nine Mile Road, where he continued to only do hand
lettering. It wasn't until 1974 he decided to expand the business
and start fabricating lighted signs. The business continued
to grow more and more over the years, going from nothing but
hand lettering, to vinyl lettering, sand blasted, channel
letters, marquees, neon, installations and many other types
of commercial or personal signage.
Norvell
Signs have provided quality signs and service to all of our
customers through the years, serving several national companies
such as Chrysler Corp., Holiday Inn, Taco Bell, Arby's and
KFC. On a local level we provide service for names such as
G.E. Financial Assurance Corporation Offices and SunTrust
Bank. We look forward to serving all old and new customers
the best that we can for many years to come.
Today,
the family tradition continues with Buddy's sons, Danny and
Dwayne, who now own the business.
We are
members of the Virginia Sign Association and ISA.
